Community Recycling Changes

Dear Residents,

I hope this message finds you well. As a committed member of our vibrant community, I am writing to inform you of important changes to our recycling regulations. These modifications aim to improve our community's sustainability efforts and align with new municipal guidelines.

Starting on December 1st, we will be expanding the types of materials that can be recycled curbside. You will now be able to include certain types of plastics and metals that were previously excluded. Please review the detailed list of accepted items below:

• Plastics: Containers labeled #1, #2, #4, and #5. This includes plastic bottles, jugs, and certain tubs typically used for food products. Plastics labeled #3 and #7 will still need to be taken to a specialized facility.
• Metals: In addition to aluminum cans, we will now accept small metal items such as tin can lids, aluminum foil, and empty aerosol cans. Please ensure all items are cleaned and devoid of food residue before recycling.

Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that you no longer need to separate paper and cardboard. These can now be placed in the same recycling container, streamlining your recycling process. However, please continue to flatten cardboard boxes to conserve space.

There are also changes to the collection schedule. Recycling will be picked up weekly to accommodate the increased volume. Please set your bins out by 7 AM on your designated day. You will receive a leaflet in the mail with your specific collection day within the next week.

We understand that with change comes the need for adaptation, and we appreciate your cooperation during this transition. By following these new regulations, our community can significantly reduce waste and contribute to a healthier environment. Our collective effort is a testament to our community's dedication to ecological conservation and environmental responsibility.

To further assist in this transition, we will be holding an informational session at the community center on November 15th at 7 PM. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the changes and a Q&A segment with experts in waste management. We encourage all residents to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of effective recycling practices. For those who cannot attend, we will make session materials available afterward for your convenience.
